World Bank regional director for the South Caucasus, Henry Kerali arrived in Azerbaijani capital of Baku on Thursday, the bank’s representative office told Trend.
Kerali has already met with Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov.
On Friday, he will meet with the Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov and Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.
The visit of the WB regional director will end on Friday evening.
The meetings will discuss the current state of WB operations in Azerbaijan, the bank’s short- and medium-term plans, as well as its new strategy on Azerbaijan.
The work on strategy will be completed by late 2014. It will cover the next three- or four years.
The WB has financed over 50 projects worth more than $3 billion since Azerbaijan’s joining the bank.
