U.S. President Barack Obama, making the annual statement on the anniversary of the so-called “Armenian genocide” on Saturday, did not use the word “genocide”.

US President called the 1915 events by an expression ’Meds Yeghern’ in Armenian language, translated as “great tragedy”.

Note that in 2009 and 2010, Obama also called the events of 1915 “a great tragedy”.
