“Nowruz has been celebrated in all parts of our motherland with various festivities and ceremonies over the long centuries. The protection of this holiday, which is a splendid expression of everlasting love to Allah, universe and mother nature, demonstrates Azerbaijani people’s high respect to historical-cultural heritage and devotion to the national and moral values.

This year the arrival of spring in Azerbaijan coincides with the preparations for the 20th anniversary of the independence of our state. The celebration of Nowruz holiday on the state level is one of the achievements we gained on the way to independence. Our republic, which is celebrating its twentieth spring in the atmosphere of sovereignty, is receiving mugham researchers, mugham singers and guests from various countries within the framework of the International Mugham Festival. Mugham is in harmony with the atmosphere of belief and enthusiasm for creative activity increased by the spring.

I send my Nowruz greetings to the world Azerbaijanis, believe that they will unite around the ideology of Azerbaijanism. Again we commemorate the Azerbaijanis, who were killed for the independence and territorial integrity of our motherland.
