Short-term observers of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), European Parliament and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will be on visit in Azerbaijan to follow the presidential elections on October 12-17. APA’s Europe bureau reports quoting PACE secretariat that PACE observation group includes 26 parliamentarians, 1 expert of the CE Venice Commission and 5 representatives from PACE Secretariat. PACE Co- rapparteur on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel will lead the observation mission. The mission will conduct various meetings on October 13-14. The meetings will basically be held with CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov, presidential candidates, heads of opposition parties as well as members of media and civil society. The mission will observe the elections on October 15 and hold a press conference in regard to results of the elections on October 16.
