Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov has said the OSCE must increase its efforts in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, while he met OSCE Chairperson in Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic.
They discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and OSCE, as well as developing of Azerbaijani-Serbian ties, the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and current state of settlement of the problem.
Asadov said Azerbaijan put special emphasis in its relationship with the OSCE, saying, the country has been cooperating with the OSCE more than 20 years.
“Close relations exist between the Parliament of Azerbaijan and the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE,” he said.
The Speaker also provided an insight into the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as negotiations process in settlement of the problem.
On Azerbaijani-Serbian relations Mr. Asadov applauded these ties, stressed the importance of reciprocal visits of the heads of states in development of these ties.
The Speaker also stressed the significance of further development of economic ties, saying, this meeting would contribute to deepening the ties.
Ivica Dacic, in turn, highlighted friendly relations between the two countries, saying, President of Serbia would attend the opening ceremony of the First European Games. He added regaining the peace and stability in the region has great importance for whole Europe.
