“Over the past seven years Azerbaijan’s economy has increased about 3 times and budget expenditures 12 times, the poverty has decreased 4.5 times, and the unemployment has sharply fallen”.
The president said that over the recent years a lot had been done for land improvement of Baku city, the landmarks and parks had been restored, and the industrial enterprises are gradually resettled from the center of the city: “The industrial enterprises should not be in the center of the city. The parks, dwelling houses, recreation places, and public places are being created instead of the industrial enterprises, and this process is successfully in progress. This issue is always in our plans and the works on laying out of new parks will be continued in the coming years”.
The president also said about laying out of the park around nine hectares area of Heydar Aliyev Center.
The head of the country also said that the projects on laying out new strips of forest in city center are in progress, which will be laid out in the areas of unfit industrial enterprises and dwelling houses: “The resettlement works will be carried out there. If the buildings are residential ones then the dwellers will be paid compensation in accordance with the market prices, as we have done up to present time.”
“The afforestation process of the city will go rapidly. I gave a special instruction to plant new trees at the empty and remarkable places of the city. A great strip of forest will be laid out in Bayil slope. Presently, the mountains surrounding Baku are arid ones. But having covered those mountains with forests both the ecological situation will be improved and it’ll get pleasant view” – said the head of the country.
