The relations between Azerbaijan and Russian develop with enough success”, said Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev at the interview to “Russia-24” TV channel.

“Our relations develop dynamically, systematically and effectively. We have the high level political relations, adopt the decisions that give the real outcomes as a result of these relations. We justly characterize our relations as the strategic cooperation”.

The president noted that Russia attains great interest for Azerbaijan as the consumer market in the context of trade relations: “Russia is also our main import partner. The most products imported to Azerbaijan are from Azerbaijan. The relations in the field of economics are continuing to strengthen. The amount of trade turnover during the crisis period was decreased, but we compensation it improving the structure of the turnover”.

Ilham Aliyev underlined the active cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in energy and military-technical spheres: “The last sphere is developing very successfully. It is the reality of the last years. We are intended to the further strengthening of our relations.”

Among the documents signed between the both countries the president underlined the agreement on state border: “This is one of the important documents for any country – the identification of its borders with the neighbor countries. These borders were identified in terms of mutual interests, justly. This agreement will more strengthen the bilateral relations between our countries nations. In the future we will increase the positive potential of bilateral cooperation.”
