The preamble part of the Decree says that over the passed years the important measures have been done for improving the services related to supply the population with potable water in inhabited localities of the republic.

A number of important projects for reconstruction and development of water supply and sewerage systems are in progress, new water supply and sewerage facilities have been constructed and put into operation as well as other necessary measures are taken.

Taken measures ensure a positive impact on uninterrupted supply of the population with potable water.

According to the presidential decree, population’s debt to “Azersu” Open Joint Stock Company, amounted AZN 294.2 millions for February 1, 2011, for potable water supply and sewerage services, has been written off.

“Azersu” Open Joint Stock Company is requested to notify within 10-day period each customer about the amount of debt, written off in accordance with Part 1 of the Decree, and the debt incurred after February 1, 2011, as well as to take necessary measures for full payment of the costs of consumers for water supply and sewerage services and non-existence of new debts.
