Speaker of the parliament Ogtay Asadov said 18-man CEC must consist of 6 representatives of the party holding the majority of seats in the parliament, 6 representatives of the parties holding the minority of seats in the parliament and 6 representatives of non-party parliamentarians. The 18-man list is as follows:
Mazahir Panahov, Shaitdin Aliyev, Fuad Javadov, Ramiz Ibrahimov, Valida Kazimova and Gabil Orujov (all from YAP), Mikayil Rahimli (United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party), Almas Gahramanli (Citizen Solidarity Party), Akif Gurbanov, Tamam Jafarli (Democratic Reforms Party), Bakhsheyish Asgarov (Great Establishment Party), Etibar Guliyev (Motherland Party), Natig Mammadov, Azer Tagiyev, Arifa Mukhtarova, Ilham Mammadov, Nizami Nadirov and Tofig Hasanov (candidates of non-party parliamentarians). Natig Mammadov’s candidacy was agreed with the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Arifa Mukhtarova’s candidacy with the representatives of the parties holding minority of seats in the parliament.
The new composition of the CEC was confirmed after the speeches of the parliamentarians.
