Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova made an initiative to hold the Month of children’s rights from October 20 to November 20 under the motto “Let us listen to children, ensure their participation” in the country, the press service of the Office of the Ombudsman told Trend News.
The main goal of the month is to attract the attention of state agencies, NGOs, civil society, communities and influential international organizations to the protection of children, their social problems, combat HIV/AIDS and drug abuse, help children affected by war, children in need of special care, who were deprived of parental care, as well as identify and address the difficulties experienced by children and adopt appropriate measures in this regard.
During the Month, there are plans to hold round tables, seminars, trainings in the cities and regions of the country, with the support of the local authorities.
During that month, it is planned to hold competitions of journalistic work on the theme “Children’s Rights for All” and children’s drawings on the theme “Our Rights”, the winners of which will be announced during the final event.
