Azerbaijan and Turkey have today signed two deals on defense cooperation in Istanbul. Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan Yaver Jamalov and Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gönul attended the signing ceremony.
According to the first agreement signed by Jamalov and Gönul, Azerbaijan will participate in the project of joint production of 105-mm gun and MODERN infantry rifle in the Turkish enterprises.
The second agreement was signed between the Turkey’s Machine and Chemical Industry Organization (MKEK) and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Industry. The agreement was signed by head of defense-technology cooperation department of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan Farrukh Vazirov and MKEK Director General Ünal Önsahioğlu.
The agreement considers joint production of 120-mm mortar launcher drafted by MKEK.
