Azerbaijan will simplify customs procedures in connection with the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, the county’s Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov said at the opening of the 10th World Customs Organization (WCO) PICARD Conference held in Baku on Sept. 8.
Over the past ten years Azerbaijan’s economy has developed, favorable conditions for were created domestic and foreign investors, Sharifov said, noting the importance of the historical Silk Road passing through the country.
Addressing the conference, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev said the economic development in Azerbaijan brings to Azerbaijan’s customs authorities important tasks.
Stressing the importance of organizing the 10th WCP PICARD Conference in Baku, Aliyev said the customs authorities of Azerbaijan will continue to honorably fulfill their tasks.
