At presen, there are 49 child prisoners in Azerbaijan, and this is the lowest indication among CIS countries, according to the information of Trend News, the head of the committee on the politics of law and state structure Ali Huuseynov has stated it in the today`s special meeting of the National Assemmbly. “We will try to minimize the number of child prisoners” –said Mr. Huseynov.

“We will attain to have a budget for children within the state budget a few years later”- said Ziyad Samadzade who is the director of the committee on politics of economics. According to the statement of Mr. Seyidzade, investment in the development of children under school age is much more rational.

“The number of children in Azerbaijan constitutes 30-40 per cent of population” – said Shamsaddin Hajiyev, the director of the committee of “Science and Education”. According to his statment, the state budget of 2010 envisages essential means for children.

“Over 70 per cent of the 1 billion and 250 million manats contemplated for science and education are meant for preschool, secondary school education. For the time being, 20 education programmes are conducted and most of them are related to children.”- added Mr. Hajiyev.
