Azerbaijan has completed the major command and staff drills, said the country’s defense ministry Sept. 14.

A meeting on the results of the drills was held Sept. 14 under supervision of the Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.

The ministry’s administrative staff, commanders of military units, chiefs of staffs and officers in charge, who were involved in the drills, also took part in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the minister said that all the set tasks and objectives were adequately executed during the command and staff drills, held in line with a plan that was approved by Azerbaijan’s President, the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.

Hasanov, saying that battle objectives were carried out at an appropriate level, praised the initiative taken by commanders and personnel during the live fire exercises and manoeuvres.

Highly appreciating the battle readiness, capability and professionalism of the personnel of the Armed Forces, Minister Hasanov reiterated the significance of holding such drills and gave the relevant instructions on this regard.
