Matthew Bryza outlined his priorities as ambassador. He noted that the US will continue supporting Azerbaijan in the field of security, energy and democratic reforms.

The diplomat also spoke about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He noted that the conflict can be solved only peacefully.
“I hope this conflict will be solved. Peaceful solution to the conflict will bring stability to the entire region and increase the strategic importance of the region,” he said.

Matthew Bryza said the US also supports Azerbaijan’s participation in the peacemaking operations in Afghanistan within the framework of NATO.
