Joint Working Group (JWG) on the Implementation of the International Human Rights Standards in Azerbaijan held a press conference dedicated to the presentation of presidential elections projects. According to the information given by APA JWG expert Alimammad Nuriyev submitted his report on the monitoring of the freedom of assembly in the period of election campaign. He said the presidential candidates held only one meeting and applied for three meetings more in the campaign period. Nuriyev said the candidates used mostly the gathering format. The candidates held totally 451 gatherings with the participation of 371 thousand people so far. JWG member Hugug Salmanow who monitored the mass media in the campaign period said that Azeri-Press Information Agency, Day.az and 1news.az web-sites were also involved in the monitoring. The above-mentioned media organizations made totally 110 reports about the presidential candidates from September 17 to October 2. 44 reports were about Ilham Aliyev, 17 about Gudrat Hasanguliyev, 15 about Igbal Agazadeh and others about the other candidates.
