4,591,923 electors will vote in the municipal elections in Azerbaijan on December 23, CEC Secretary Natig Mammadov said at today’s meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC). At this meeting, a member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Aydin Mirzazade was approved as a member with the right of an advisory vote.

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said that today 32,086 candidates have received the signature lists, of which 27,053 have submitted the signature lists and other documents relevant to constituencies, 22,871 candidates were registered as candidates.

At the meeting, the representative of Umid Party Akif Gurbanov expressed his dissatisfaction that the executive structures in some regions creates obstacles to the nomination.

According to Panahov, these facts will be studied.
