The only solution to the conflict is complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov made this statement on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the creation of the country’s Armed Forces.

The minister noted that international inspection groups have over the current period conducted in Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces four inspections of the “announced place” as part of the “Agreement on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe”, and one “Assessment visit” and four inspections of the “designated region” as part of the “Vienna-11 Document”. At the same time, the office of the personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office has conducted 24 monitorings on the contact line of troops.

“By controlling the whole operational conditions along the contact line over the past year, the Azerbaijani Army proved it has full military advantage. We showed to the enemy our strength to help them understand that the only solution to the conflict is complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories. The enemy should understand it. The only task entrusted to the military personnel is to stand ready at any moment to defeat the enemy. We are ready for this, and the exercises, conducted in order to strengthen the combat readiness of military personnel and improve their proficiency, show that the day of victory is near,” the minister added.

Hasanov also mentioned that the strong potential of the Azerbaijani Army allow us to say with confidence all forthcoming work and goals will be successfully implemented.

“We will spare no efforts in fulfilling all tasks set before us by the Supreme Commander. I once again honor the memory of the martyrs on this holiday, congratulate their parents, families, soldiers who lost their health for the sake of the homeland, veterans, personnel currently serving on the contact line, in combat duty, guard service, within peacekeeping forces and missions in foreign countries, wish them robust health and happiness,” concluded the minister.
