The US Congressman Robert Aderholt has called on the US President Barack Obama to support Azerbaijan.

In his letter to the US president, Congressman Aderholt said Azerbaijan is an important partner of the US, and noted the country’s strategic location, its support for anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan and the energy security of Europe and Israel.

He particularly stressed the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and the ‘Southern Gas Corridor’ projects.

The congressman also urged President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry to accelerate the process of appointing an ambassador to Azerbaijan, and send a senior administration official to the country.
