Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov and member of the Islamic Consultative Council (Parliament) and Chairman of the ‘Iran-Azerbaijan’ inter-parliamentary friendship group Ramazanali Sobhanifar discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations in the economic and cultural spheres between Azerbaijan and Iran, the country’s embassy in Iran told Trend today.

The ambassador appreciated the role of inter-parliamentary relations and especially the friendship groups in bringing bilateral relations to a higher level.

He stressed that a delegation led by Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oqtay Asadov will visit Tehran soon to attend the ninth meeting of chairmen of the Parliaments of OIC member countries. The delegation includes members of the ‘Azerbaijan – Iran’ inter-parliamentary friendship group.
