“The Azerbaijani government is efficiently cooperating with all international organizations, including Transparency International, Human Rights Watch and Freedom House,” deputy chairman, executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov said while commenting on the remarks that the Azerbaijani government does not work with the abovementioned organizations.
Ali Ahmadov said there are sufficient facts to prove this. He said a number of reports contain unverified, biased items.
“We express our position basing on the facts,” he said.
Ali Ahmadov underlined that Azerbaijan’s position in the Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index 2011 does not coincide with reality.
“It does not coincide with the Azerbaijani government’s struggle against corruption. The great majority of the Azerbaijani people think differently about it. I do not say there is no corruption in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani government has also confessed it and is struggling to eliminate it. There is political will, serious activities are being and will be carried out towards this,” he said.
