According to the amendments, the Parliament will appoint the judges of Nakhchivan Supreme Court by the presentation of Autonomous Republic’s Supreme Court and presentation.

The judges of Nakhchivan general and specialized courts will be appointed by the president with the proposal of chairman of Autonomous Republic’s Supreme Court.

During the discussion of the draft law, MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev proposed, as Nakhchivan is an Autonomous Republic, it must have a separate leader, Executive Office, and mass adopt the decision: “The Supreme Court must operate as a separate legislative organization”.

First Vice-Speaker of the parliament Ziyafat Asgarov said Gars agreement of 1921 was considered during elaboration of AR Constitution, the Constitution of Nakhchivan AR doesn’t have contradictions with the Constitution of Azerbaijan: “the giving of all authorities to the leadership of Nakhchivan AR means that Nakhchivan is an independent country. We can not establish wittingly such a problem for us”.

The amendment was put to vote and adopted.
