The heads of states emphasized the successful development of Azerbaijani-Romanian relations in the political, economic, energy and humanitarian fields and noted the importance of mutual visits.

The heads of states expressed confidence in further development of the relations between the countries and exchanged views on the bilateral, regional and international issues.

The delegations of the two countries later joined the official talks, which were followed by the signing of official documents.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Romania Traian Basescu signed the Joint Action Plan for fulfillment of strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania. The cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Romania was signed by Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Ismet Abbasov and Economy Ministry of Romania Ion Ariton. The agreement on cooperation in healthcare and medicine was signed by Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Ogtay Shiraliyev and Economy Ministry Ion Ariton. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and State Secretary with the Romanian Foreign Ministry Doru Costea signed the Protocol on Cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
