She said there were some amendments to the draft law. Two issues protested by the lawmakers – surrogate mother and sperm bank – were dropped from the draft law.
“Both issues caused serious protests. Naturally our national mentality and family traditions don’t allow it”, said the lawmaker.
Ibrahimqizi said new issues related to the health of mothers and children were amended to the document. She said now new-born babies weighted above 1 kg 600 g are considered as the citizens of Azerbaijan. This limit is 600 g in the most countries of the world. “I consider that we have to eliminate this limit and it will be described in the draft law. This issue is discussed now. I would like that there will be 600-g limit in Azerbaijan too”.
