The number of cases related to land and housing arguments increased in Azerbaijani courts in 2009. The Supreme Court reviewed 764 cases last year related to apartment complaints, which is an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period in 2008, Judge Asad Mirzaliyev told Trend News today. Most complaints were related to eviction and dividing apartments between several owners.
The number of land-related complaints reviewed by the Supreme Court in 2009 hit 448, an increase of 15 percent. During the reporting period, the number of cases reviewed by the Supreme Court in connection with the right of inheritance increased by 40 percent (209 cases), and loan processing to in 3-4 times (62 cases). Mirzaliyev said the number of cases related to closing purchase contracts fell by 48 percent in 2009.
The number of cases reviewed by judicial assembly on civil courts and the judicial assembly on economic arguments of the Supreme Court, as well as received appeals has increased compared to the same period of 2008,. Thus, this figure has been increased by 14.6 percent in the judicial assembly on civil cases, the judicial assembly on economic arguments by 28.9 percent.
