The Supreme Court of Azerbiajan Republic held the next plenum under the chairmanship of Ramiz Rzayev on October 29. Opening the plenary session, the chairman of the Supreme Court spoke about the activities run in the field of the protection of the rights of children in the republic. He pointed out that, announcing 2009 as the Year for Children under the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev provided new possibilities to take care of children much better in our country.

Holding the national conference on the reforms of protection of children and dedicated to the Year for Children and 20 years` completion of UN convention on the rights of the child on October 22-24 in Azerbaijan, is one of the mos important indications of the protection of children` rights in Azerbaijan. Care and attention to children and youth are state priorities in Azerbaijan.

The question “About practical experience of legislation by courts while considering civil issues connected with adoption or cancelation of adoption” was widely debated in the plenum.
He has underlined that, these years childres` rights as part of human righs have been in the focus of attention and racional tools were generated for the provision of the rights of children. Azerbaijan has joined the conventions such as, “About childrens` rights” and “About protection of children and cooparation regarding adoption among countries”.

The speakers stressed out that, to live in a family and get upbringing is very essential for childrens` rights and that envisages guaranty of their upbiringing. Children acquire their moral and physical development in families, and are qualified to be a fully legitimate member of society.
