According to three decision passed by the European Court of Human Rights, the decisions of Azerbaijani courts were canceled and returned to the appeal instance. The Supreme Court Plenum passed decision about that, APA reports quoting the press service of the Human Right Education Society.
The Plenum canceled the Azerbaijani courts’ decisions on the cases of Azerbaijani Lawyers Forum founders and criminal case of the Mukhalifet newspaper’s reporters Rovshan Mahmudov and Yashar Aghazadeh, who were charged with articles 147.1 and 148 of the Criminal Code. The cases were sent back to the appeal instance for re-hearing.
The Plenum also reviewed the European Court’s decision on Mahira Muradova’s plea that she suffered from the police violence and sent it back to the appeal instance.
