Today the Constitutional Court has started its meetings on the announcement of the final results of the presidential elections. The chairman of Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov made a speech at the meeting. The chairman of CEC gave full information about the preparation and organization of the elections. M.Panahov announced the voting results. He stated that according to the final results announced by CEC the presidential candidate Ilham Aliev received 88.73% (3 232 259), Igbal Agazadeh 2.86% (104 279), Fazil Gazanfaroglu 2.47% (89 986), Gudrat Hasanguliev 2.28% (83 037), Gulamhuseyn Alibayli 2.23% (81 120), Fuad Aliev 0.78% (28 423), Hafiz Haciev 0.65% (23.771) of votes.
The chairman of CEC noted that no complaints entered to CEC about the elections. The vice-chairman of CEC Svetlana Gasimova stated that international organizations considered the elections to be democratic. S. Gasimova also stated that these elections could be a good example for some other countries. The vice-president explained that the results of 8 polling stations had been annulled as the protocols were blackened.
As an expert the head advisor of State Statistics Committee Narmina Gulieva and the professor of Constitutional Law Department of Baku State University Elshad Nasirli made a speech at the meeting. According to the experts the results of the elections are in line with the Legislation. After this the delegation court went to the consultation to announce the results.
