11-12 November 2009 Baku will host international conference “Dialogue among Civilizations: A View from Azerbaijan”, dedicated to the 40 th anniversary of the Organization of Islamic Conference, said in a statement of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan. The Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan jointly with the OIC General Secretariat will organize the conference in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Conference.

The conference will involve participation of the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, about 200 local and foreign scientists from 41 countries and three international organizations, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan.

At the conference, there will be scientific discussions on such topics as religious and cultural differences, the experience of Azerbaijan in this field, the problems faced by interfaith dialogue, the Islamic geopolitics. On the second day of the conference there will be held a public television forum with the participation of foreign guests on “Interfaith Dialogue”.
