Azerbaijan is a country with a high national tolerance, where people can preserve authenticity, due to the general support of the Azerbaijani government, the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Vladimir Dorokhin said at the Third Congress of the Russian Community in Azerbaijan. “We are pleased that the Azerbaijani leadership paid special attention to the meeting of the Russian community. Compatriots’ support is the course of my government’s policy,” Dorokhin said.

He said that Russia would continue to support the cultural and historical ties with their compatriots in other countries, including Azerbaijan. The community in Azerbaijan is doing much for the Russians to live better. It is associated with the activity of the community chairperson Mikhail Zabelin, Dorokhin said.

The head of the Social and Political Department of the Presidential Administration, Ali Hasanov read Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s greeting at the meeting. Azerbaijan is a country with a high religious and ethnic tolerance. It is easy for the Russian people to live here, the President told to the participants at the Third Congress of the Russian community in Azerbaijan.

In his welcoming letter to the President, he stressed that the Russians have been living in Azerbaijan for a long time and they actively participate in the developments in Azerbaijani. The president mentioned about four Russian heroes who had died in the Nagorno-Karabakh, while defending the Azerbaijani sovereignty.
